Dear Brock:
I would appreciate your arranging to brief the United :
States Intelligence Board in executive -session on the following:
1. The program and plans including study contracts
and contracts and commitments for material and. systems for
an improved satellite photography recoxusaiesance search system.
This, I think, involves: - -
a. Steps which are being taken or might be taken
to improve the CORONA J.
b. Steps which are being taken or-might-be. taken
to develop a new high resolution search system. ' '
2. Same information .on the GAMBIT selective spotting
system, both with respect to the improvement of the existing
system and a follow-on system.
- 3. Studies or contracts, for material and systems of
satellite reconnaissance not related either to the CORONA or the
GAMBIT, but which gives promise for- adding to our intelligence
inventory, These involve the improved photography, infra-red,
color photography. radar, etc.
4. A status report on the work of the Air Force under
NRO direction of providing secure satellite systems which cannot
be intercepted by the Soviets anti-satellite capabilities. In this
connection I note from satellite photography some unexplained
construction which might possibly indicate the actual construction
of an anti-satellite facility within the Soviet Union.

immediately after my return from Saigon. If agreeable to you,
I will arrange a meeting on t % edneaday. V arch l8th. so that
adequate time will be provided for the briefings. I would, however,
like to review the subject with you personally prior to presentation
to the Board.
