ELM Approved Fo.lease 2006/01/17 : 3 May 1967 Morning Meeting of 3 May 1967 DD/I noted a letter from Julius Holmes and, in this regard, gave the DDCI a status report on the Special State-Defense Study Group's Near East-North Africa-Horn project. Kent informed the DDCI of his efforts to brief Ambassador Harri- man on a SNIE concerning possible Soviet and ChiCom actions. He said that Ambassador Harriman and Chet Cooper both have the paper. DDCI felt it was an excellent paper but raised a specific question on the char- acteristics of thel missile as carried in an annex. Kent said that he will look into this. said that the paper requested on the status of overhead reconnaissance of North Vietnam should be ready by 1130 this morning. II DD/S noted an item in last night's Washington Star on the state of medical care for civilians in Saigon. He briefed on the Agency's nego- tiations with the Department of State on this matter. Executive Director said that we have no problem with cooperating with State as long as the funding and staffing are appropriately prorated. or Warner noted that the Director is scheduled to brief the Rivers subcommittee tomorrow morning. Executive Director hoped that members of the Rivers committee or its staff will be able to see the TSD display, which will be available for viewing until 1330 Thursday. DD/S&T discussed his trip to NSA yesterday.
