CIA Record Retention
1. In discussions with) Idirector of the Agency's
record retention program, it became apparent to me that, in addition
to problems peculiar to it, the CIA shares many of the paperwork problems
of the business world and that it is making an active and impressive
effort to bring these under control.
2. The annexed draft article describing our problems in this area
and what we are doing about them may be appropriate for publication over
the Director's by-line in some forum. One which comes to mind. is the
op-ed page of the New York Times.
