I ash unable to net up the date of 9 October, suggested to
you yesterday, for a meeting of the board. I do want to thank you
for accept; that date as well as the previously suggested, date of
15 October.
Prior commitments and responsibilities seem to make it
impossible for the Board of Consultants to .meet as an entity, and it
now appears inadvisable to schedule regular meetings except as an
emergency measure,
Since you have generously signified your willingness to
assist in the guidance of the Central Intelligence Group, I am sure
that* as an alternative to regularly scheduled meetings, you All be
just as willing to act in an individual and personal advisory capac-
ity. This would be of inestimable value to me end to the interests
of natiol. intelligence, I hesitate to make demands on your time
but feel your guidance and advice will greatly assist the effective-
ness of the Central Intelligence Group.

and talk things over with me at such times as are convenient to
you. I will be most thankful for your aid, encouragement and
advice.
