group. You may be amused to Ums am std the
medical report you enclosed, over to the White House to note
particularly the paragraph on birth control, as the president
has, on several occasions, expressed a great interest in the
problem of Population growth, particularly in countries like
China, India, etc. I appreciate your bringing all this inforn -
tion to my attention.
Also* and for your confidential information only,
Stoddard Stevens of S & C. , who does some work for the t,14 l
Dominion FOUVdation (Paul Mellon) told me they were consider-
lug a grant toward your work on the OSS history. I told Stodd ~-d
that this had our unqualified backing and at his suggestion., I hj; ve
just confirmed this to him in writing and have sent hirr a copy :sf
my letter to you of 7 august 1958. 1 hope they will take favor-
able action and I have told Stoddard if he wants any more infor!,a-
tion, I would be pleased to furnish it.
