Dear Allen,
As a member of the General Assembly of World Brotherhood you
are aware, of course, of the fact that we are a charitable
non-profit organization and that our work is supported by funds
which we receive from individuals, corporations and foundations,
in carrying on correspondence with these various sources of
funds our regular letterhead, on which your name appears) is
used.
The New York Social Welfare Law requires that we must have the
written consent of any person whose name may be used in solicit-
ing funds in the State of New York. The New York Department of
Social Welfare interprets this law as meaning that a letter
soliciting funds, written on a letterhead carrying the names of
individuals, constitutes the use of these names for the purpose
of soliciting contributions.
We should therefore appreciate your signing the enclosed Form of
Consent and returning it to us in the enclosed envelope at your
earliest convenience. Your help is very much appreciated.
Sincerely yours,
ERC:mp Everett R, Clinchy
