Dulles, Director Central Intelligence Agency Washington 25, D. C. 815 EAST CENTER AVENUE SEARCY, ARKANSAS Dear IMr. . Dulles: I am deeply grateful to you for the consideration you gave to my two recent letters. However, my feeling of apprehension has not eotirely dissolvedfied Ravines, identi ust read the statement made by r. I have j as the founder of the Communist Party in Peru; and suggest Emilio Portuondo, whom I am sure you know. clussion of far graver situations in Latin America than you or General Cabell seem to find. I read the General's statement to the Congressional Committee and it was not altogether reassuring. He doesn't seem to feel that Castro is directly linkedBto the Communist movement -- which of course, is accademic. , h I think doesn't seem to view the situation in Cuba as allarmingly the facts would indicate. He doesn't seem to be too well informed on the situation in lexico. Frankly, I feel that unless something drastic is done about the strongholds being built up in Latin America by the Communist International we will, before my grandchildren arrive, be living in a Communist dictatorship. Our governments r efusaltto face the facts of Latin America is so astonishing to on th in the unbelievable. The itany Communism that might beldown there people o of Cuba overthrowing is astonishing. Undoubtedly, some of the actions of our government are based on the intelligence which doesn't reveal the fullramifiraations mistaken penetration of Communism around us. I hope ~P y I am about the degree of it's penetration. Thank you again for the courtesy of your replies. Please do not bother to reply to this letter. Execu ive .,:.
