Before taking leave as Attorney General, I wish to
express to you my deep appreciation for the tremendous co-
operation given this :Department by you and members of your
staff in connection with the difficult problems which at-
tended the preparation and trial of the recently concluded
Abel case.
The attorneys of this Department who have had a
close connection with the case unqualifiedly join with
me in commending to you every one of your representatives
