I believe we should be on record indicating
readiness to appear before the CIA Subcommittee
of Senate Appropriations. As you know, Senator
Russell usually combines the appropriations
hearing with a substantive hearing and invites
Senator Hayden to sit in, so our letter to Senator
Russell actually is the most important. However,
out of courtesy I believe we have to make a
formal approach to the Chairman, Senator Hayden
so I have drafted a shorter letter to him.
