The information for the resume of the luncheon meeting was very hastily obtained from Mr. Staats and may, therefore, have some holes. 2. At the Board meeting it was decided that any further consideration of N5C 5518 on Indonesia would be deferred until the April 3 meeting at which time the Indonesia Progress Report will be discussed by the Board. In this connection it was agreed by the Board that an oral briefing by CIA on the current situation in Indonesia would be most helpful and we are so committed. As you ma recall we were intending to have brief the Board on t the April 3 meeting. I believe this Indonesia briefing takes precedence and I don't believe you would want two CIA briefings at one OCB meeting. If you agree, I will attempt to get briefing scheduled for the 10 April meeting. This will involve extending TDY at headquarters an additional five days. 3. The Philippines was also mentioned at the Board meeting and it was generally agreed that a special national intelligence estimate on the Philippines is desirable. In order to allow time for that situation to clear a bit, however, it was agreed that the NIE might be deferred for three to four weeks. I have also . referred this matter to Mr.l 25 25X1 u 25X1 25X1 25X1 25X1 Approved For Release ps/~fi,: CIA-RDP80B01676R002700010041-9 Approved For Release 2003/6'~~uBl~-RDP8og01676R002700010041-9 SUBJECT: Resume of OCB Luncheon Meeting, 20 March 1957 PRESENT: Mr. Cutler, Mr. Herter, Mr. Dulles, Gen.
