The Cot eil Order of Liberation Members has expressed
a desire to receive President Eisenhower, a fellow Companion,
during his :December Paris visit. General Koenig, Ingold Grand
Chancellor of the Order, and Jean Mairey want to do more than
was done for Companion Churchill last November. Companion
Bokanowski, Minister of State for Interior, with permission of
De Gaulle, founder and head of the Order, will have the invitation
passed through official Quai.O'Orsay channels inviting President
Eisenhower to a reception at Elyse* which will include all
President Eisenhower would accept. if President Eisenhower is
unable to accept, we can stop the invitation before being issued
and thus avoid any undue embarrassment. Please advise."
