respecting Ambassador Conant 's views on the reunifica-
tion question and in particular Conant?s interest In obtaining
from CIA any indications that the Soviets might let Pankow down
and asked if we could not get something to Amb. Conant on this.
Mr. Helms undertook to look into this.

Mr. Wisner:
Suggested it might b? well for CIA to.get in touch with
George Kennan and obtain his views for use in our preparations
for the Summit Conference. The Director agreed and said Ray
Cline would do this...quietly.
Col. White:
Noted that we were fast approaching our personnel ceiling.
The Director asked Col. White to prepare a brief memo on this
and discuss it with his.
