stated ad asked for anything we might obtain
on this meeting.

the latter part of May and remarked he might have him to
lunch if necessary.
1. Reported he had received a call yesterday from the
Deputy Secretary of Defense who indicated that Def ease did
not intend to supply arms The Director said he 25X1
had advised Mr. Hyes that CIA could furnish only a fsw small
arms to the leaders of the particular project in question; horever,
we were prepared to do the necessary training.

n. Raised the question of preparing a crash Estimate
on Indochina and stated he intended to speak to
about this.
a. Reported that the survey on intelligence contained
in FBI reports would be ready for the Director on 27 April.
b. Stated that the paper on the Watch Committee would
be presented for consideration by the IAC at its 3 NaT Meeting.
Referred to the Estimate on Guatemala, prepared by ONE,
and stated it was an excellent piece of work. He said Mr.
Amor had su sated that DD/P indicate this in a memorandum
to The Director disapproved.
a. Reported he had contacted the Department of Justice
respecting any queries they might have had on Goverment
employees participating in the pBelievera~ Petition", and
stated he had been informed that to date Justice had not been
approached on this by any other governmental agencies.
b. Reported that would be prosecuted for evadi:g
tax on automatic weapons he had imported into the U. S. after
he had severed his connections with CIA. Mr. Houston said
in his defense, might attempt to draw us into this and
received the Directors permission to discuss this matter with
the Department of Justice.
