a. Noted he had received a letter from 25X1
respecting and while he did not ntend to reel
to this communication in writing he would advise 25X1
orally that our interest in this individual was on y to Vass on
the information we had obtained about him an action taken
thereon is the responsibility of 25X1
b. Noted that Tom Lambert of TIME ~ LIFE had asked to
come in to see him respecting an article he proposes to do on
Communism today as compared to a year ago. The Director asks*~l
Mr. Amory to handle this.
c. Raised the question of replies to IN 13949 and IN 15253
and after some discussion Mr. Wisner uadertook to prepare 25X1
answers to these messages for the Director's approval.

the Chief Clerk of the Senate Committee on
Appropriations

a conversation with Mr. Saunders, had
stated he had
heard
there was to be an investigation of CiA,
Colonel ~Yhite
said
word from the Bureau of the Budget had been
hir. Rowland R. Hughes about this. In connection with this
matter the question was raised as to whether should he
furnished the Bureau of the Budget. It was agree that there
would be no objection to authorized representatives of Budget
reading this Directive. which they could easily do in the offir.e
of 0 however, a copy should not be furnished for their
retention.
