In accordance with the new procedure established by the Acting Director on
17 August, Mr. 0 gave a brief review of the situation in Iran and reported
on the status of the Pella government in Italy.
a. Directed that a summary of the latest information on the Iranian situata i
be prepared for transmission through General Carroll to the President, with the
additional word that we should have more detailed information by mid-afternoon or
as soon as normal communications lag permits.
