PRES~VT: General Smith, T~lessrs. Wolf, ~roisner, Becker,
a. Briefly reported on his conversation yesterday with ~~. Binsham,
Chairman of the Civil Service Loyalty Board, and asked Mr. Wolf to f.zrnish
him a report as to when action on loyalty cases now being considered woui~y
be completed. After sorne discussion, the Director stated that (1) he desired
these cases "cleaned up" in about two weeks; (2} thereafter future cases
would be cleared within two months or less; (3} in the event it was necess-~T'?F"
to retain. loyalty cases longer than the above-mentioned period, he desiree t,.;
be notified of the reason therefor and, further, a letter would be sent to
the Chairman, Civil Service Loyalty Committee, advising him (a} the reason
for the delay and (b} the date the caseSwould be corpleted.
d. Noted that Gen. Partridge might speak to the Director regarding ass
request for screening of Foreign 1Vationals who have been taken into tha i..~.
