Gdisner, i~olf, Becker, Hedden, 0 The Director stated that he still had Mr. Hedden's study on OSI and. asked if there was anything further he had to do on this. Mr. Hedden said no further action on this matter was required by the Director. The DGl then noted that the "Pentagon"appeared to be satisfied with the results of the recent meeting held by the Scientific Intelligence Committee. Mr. Y,Tolf and Mr. Wisner reported on the recent cable from concerning operations against the request for additional personnel. In this connection, iti1r. Wisner noted that in this case ~ was somewhat at fault since we had asked him on several occasions to advise us of his pet?sonnel needs in order that this matter could be cleared with State. The Director stated that Q and the other Senior Representatives and Staff Chiefs should be kept informed of the status of their requests for additional personnel. ,fir. ',~i~~Px noted that such a practice was in effect. a. Noted Col. White had returned from things there were in excellent shape. and reported that a. Stated that he had gone over the Director's proposed repl;~ to Gen. Ridgway and recommended a few changes. Stated that an urgent request had been received from Colonels concerning a supply mission by air Aftar some discussion, wherein Mr. Eisner pointed out that (1) this mission might prove expensive if the aircraft was lost 0600,000); (2) we could not requi:~i- tion air transportation from the Aix Force; {3) we would, therefore, be required to contract air transportation, the Director stated that (1) we still had a large reserve for operations; {2) he believed that we wE~re ful7.~~ covered by the NSC on such o erat ~~however, we should double-check before going ahead; (3) Tio-uld be notified of the action taken. Discussed the agenda for the T~AC meeting today. Stated that Gen. Bolling had requested a week's ~ ?~ the Guatemala paper. 'he Director approved and noted that the pot was beginning to boil on a policy decision on this matter. The Director also stated that he had invited o attend the IAC meeting and that when the China paper was iscussec e would be asked to leave.
