DCI said that he would talk to Sherman Kent about the Yale
Study. This should receive limited distribution to the NSC for what
it is worth. The President is interested. At some later date, it
should be raised at the NSC Senior Staff in relation to the General
Security Paper.

The Director will not press for assignment. Whoever goes from
Army, however, will have to be acceptable to us or we will send an
additional man of our own.
Mr. Dulles again brought up the fact that Mr. McCone is
lunching with him today and will probably bring up the question of next
year's n intelligence matters p, they are very
anxious for briefings to be provided by a neutral agency, probably CIA.
The Director stated that we would not do it. Mr. Dulles will get
farther facts without making any commitment.
