Director's Meeting

Mr. Jackson discussed the Reber-Chadwell memorandum on Scientific
Intelligence and the point of view of the Services. The Director stated
that the subcommittee on electronics, guided missiles, and chemical warfare
must immediately undissolve itself and remain active until its future was
determined by the DCI and the IAC. The DCI spoke to General Bolling on this
matter. He also stated that there should be a survey of the scientific field

Mr. Wisner reported on a conversation with Gordon Gray and
General Gruenther. Gruenther is worried about the psychological
atmosphere in Europe but very pleased with whom Q
has been behind. Gen. Gruenther was informed of our interest. Mr. Wisner
asked if he could also brief Senator Lodge and dissuade him from pressing
ideas on the clearance of agents. Security is presently too tight. The
DCI stated that Mr. Dulles would work on this matter upon his return.

Mr. Wisner reported that Mr. Dulles agreed with Mr.
