Director's Meeting
Friday, 27 July 1951
Mr. Jackscn reported that from talks with Dr. Langer and Admiral
he felt that Captail 0 would not fit in with ONE. Admiral
will talk to II and we will. be willing, to release him to Admiral
The DCI said that Admiral0 should look for a replacement
for Captain
Mr. Jackson reported on a talk with Gordon Grey. Mr. Grey said
that he is giving four days a week to nis work at present but will tei1 his
Board that he will have to work on a full-time basis for some months. The
DCI said that it was imperative for Grey to find an executive assistant
immediately.
The Director stated that he would get to come over
an%d talk to him. he feels that II should take the job as Grey' s deputy
with the understanding that he can always come to (11A at any time.
Mr. 1I said that Senator McCarthy might precipitate, a news-
paper exposure on the 29 cases in the State Department awaiting Loyalty
Boards. One 'of these. cases is with us, and his name might possibly come
out.
Mr. Jackson reported that Trubee Davison had talked once mo:?e to
General I I who is now in New York looking for a job. It was sygt_'~ste-
that the see him on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. The DCI fees
we should have someone to deal with Air Force. Mro stated that to ,_a
had already been arranged and, consequently, DCI feels at we should dc1ar
