The Director asked that consideration b ve to a position
within the agency that can be offered to General He pointed
out that I I speaks both Spanish and Portuguese and is very
familiar with Spain and Latin 2merica. Mr. Tulles said he would look
into this matter. In this connection the Director said that he was
anxious to develop better inspection of our field facilities and personnee:'..
Mr. Dulie s said that Mr. Matthews of State, probably in
anticipation of the controversey with MacArthur, had asked for a
discussion with II and himself on projects in Asis. In this connec-
tion Mr. Dulles said he would prepare for the Director a two page
summary of our guerrilla activities which the
Director could show to the President if he so desire .
