MEMORANDUM FOR MEMBERS OF THE SPECIAL GROUP
SUBJECT: Approval of Special Reconnaissance Flights
The following actions with respect to approvals of IDEALIST
missions, were taken today:
1. Szechwan Basin. This TACKLE mission was approved
individually by members of the Special Group in Washington. Based
on this and on earlier approval in principle by higher authority,
Mr. Bundy, in Nassau, concurred.
2. North Vietnam. This mission,
ith the aircraft currently positioned there for use in t e
)was approved in the same manner and with
une same earlier approva in principle in mind.
The South China TACKLE mission has been approved at all levels
several times, and has been held up only because of weather. No
further approval is necessary if it can be mounted in the foreseeable
future.
