Morning Meeting of 10 October 1966
The Director opened with remarks welcoming Admiral Taylor
as an old friend to the Agency.
DD/I presented the weekly report of Task Force which zII)x'I
was negative. He reported on the preliminary weekend readout on
Godfrey noted the completion of a thorough study on Guatemala
and suggested routine distribution. The Director agreed.
In connection with the Presidential Asian trip, Godfrey mentioned

each stop, and that an OCI task force under will be in 25X1
operation on a twenty-four-hour basis to furnish any support required.
The Director agreed and noted that the White House had appreciated

Kent briefed the Director on the character of the footnotes which
he will read in NIE 11-8-66.

The Director asked for Carver's reaction to Neil Sheehan's article in
the Sunday New York Times Magazine Section.

A-DD/S&T reported on
The Director requested a paper
briefing the Rivers committee.
A-DD/S&T told the Director that a Los Angeles Times editor
is making inquiries on the SR-71 program which might result in some
publicity.
The Director advised Warner on his 1100 meeting today with Senator
Ervin.
The Director noted an interesting cable from on changes in
attitude of as a result of his recent trip tot e U. S.
Admiral Taylor said that he hopes to use the next three weeks to
become totally familiarized with the Agency. The Director agreed.
