Approved For Release 2008/03/03: CIA-RDP80B01676R001500080029-5 Morning Meeting of 17 November 1966 DD/I said that he has been examining the operation of Task Force and feels that, given the small amount of data available, the Task Force is simply duplicating the Watch Committee and the commu- nity's current intelligence shops. He proposed that the Task Force either be placed on an inactive basis or operate with less frequency. The DDCI opted for the first alternative, and the Director agreed. DD/I reported on the status of the action to reduce photographic coverage of Cuba. (See Action 1) Godfrey briefed on internal Chinese political trends. He explained the treatment in the CIB of signs pointing to a Chinese test, and the Director remarked that the subject had been handled well. Godfrey discussed) If or a 25X1 meeting. The Director noted that he has already approved the meeting and that Godfrey should proceed accordingly. In response to a question by the DDCI on an item in Godfrey and Chamberlain agreed that it points to a Soviet Kent said that he had received the Director's message on Jordan and intends to give him a memorandum by COB today. Houston reported that OGC has completed a study on the protection of classified intelligence information for PFIAB and has sent a copy to the Justice Department. The Director asked the DDCI to take care of this item. DDCI asked Houston to send him a copy of the paper for perusal, after which he will discuss it with Houston. Chamberlain for A-DD/S&T reported on yesterday's meeting of the Director's Space Panel. He said that Duckett has invited to Headquarters on 8 December to discuss certain matters con- cerning reconnaissance. The Director said that he wants to speak with Duckett on this. (See Action 3) DD/P briefed the Director on a program involving the purchase of DD/P noted a cable from members quarters. The Director approved. and discussed two 25X1 presently visiting Head- The Director said that he had given distribution to a cable from de Silva concerning a request for personnel. ACTIONS: 1.
