Morning Meeting of 12 December 1966
The Director gave the DD/I Agency and State cables on the
Jordanian situation and asked that he share them with Kent. He re-
ported that he discussed with the Under Secretary of 25X1
State yesterday. (See Action 1
The Director described the State Department's attitude on
Macao as nervous and asked that the Agency stay alert on this prob-
lem.
Godfrey called attention to a news dispatch suggesting the
presence of 100 additional MIG's in North Vietnam. He said that
intelligence available does not support such an accretion and that
our inventory is still 111.
Kent reminded that the Secretary of the Navy is coming to Head-
quarters today to be briefed on the Agency's position on the Tallin
sites. Kent will host the luncheon.
DD/S called attention to Jack Anderson's article on Air America
in this morning's Washington Post.
Carver said that in the course of the day he will send the Direc-
tor's office names of personnel in response to Komer's request on
South Vietnam. He will brief Walt Rostow Wednesday on pacification.

officials. He gave the Director a paper on a passed to
the Executive Director a draft letter from the Director to Secretary
McNamara concerning
The Director said that he will discuss OXCART with Charlie
Schultze this afternoon.
1. The Director asked Kent to draft a paper relating aid for
Jordan to the over-all situation in the Middle East. (D/ONE - The
sooner the better)
2. The Director asked DD/I to ascertain the agenda for the
NSC meeting tomorrow and to provide the Director with the appropriate
