Many thanks for your letter to ly r. McCone in
which you extend congratulations on the Agency's
recent anniversary. bir. MicCone Is out of the city
but when he returns the end of this month, I will call
this most appreciated letter to his attention.
The kind words you have for us are particularly
welcome as we have a tendency to be highly sensitive
to publicized charges against us and our mission. As
you know, we are in no position to comment one way
or another on such charges and thus your letter gives
us real pleasure.
Your letter is indeed high tribute coming as it
does from the U. S. Marine Corps which stands so
high in the eyes of our countrymen. You and the Corps
have our continuing, wholehearted support.
