John Downey and Richard Fecteau as CIA employees; While we
have acknowledged both men as CIA employees to their families,
who in turn have so advised such groups as their lawyers and
insurance companies, their CIA affiliation has never been acknow-
ledged to the press or radio. The authors are correct in their
statement on this latter point. Since these men are still held
prisoner in Communist China, however, it is felt that references
to them in this manner could adversely affect their statu , t -
ment. and chances of release.
