NOTES FOR DDCI
29 November 1963
1. You asked me to put the heat on to get the DIA study on
Soviet missile hardness after you read the recent 0 report.
Sherman Kent says we have received the DIA report. It is vast,
voluminous and extremely complicated. It is currently under
study here. If you would like, I can arrange for Howie Stoertz to
come by and brief you on this matter.

3. I have checked with Bill Colby who thinks it is a fine idea
to have General Waters come by for an Agency briefing. Bill and
his division will work u a presentation. The Agency briefing
officer, can cover community and Agency organization.
Bill can provide a rundown of the situations in the _Far East and can
cover briefly our war planning involved with USARPAC. The sugges-
tion is that we do this during the morning hours and then ask General
Waters to remain for lunch. We can gear this to any day suitable
to Waters, but as you know Tuesdays and Fridays would be best.
4. I have now worked it out so that the briefing of the new
Marine Corps Commandant will take place here on the morning of
6 December beginning at 10:30. General Greene will bring Lt. General
Hayes who will be Assistant Commandant, Major General Chapman,
who will be the new Chief of Staff, Major General Cushman, Assistant
Chief of Staff, G-3; and Major General Buse, Assistant Chief of Staff
for Plans and Programs. I have told Elder about this so that he can
invite the DCI to a scheduled 12:30 luncheon. Kirk and I think the
following program would be a goad one:
10:30 - 10:45 DDCI to cover National Intelligence, including
USIB, Special Group, role of DCI, etc.
10:45 - 11:45 Kirk to cover the Agency organization, mission,
operations, etc.
11:45 - 12:15 to cover CIA and its paramilitary
role. 25X1
