2. You recall that member of the 25X1
Office of Security, was to be interviewed on 10 January by Crockett
of State Department for the top security job in State. Crockett
thought very highly of II and has arranged for lo meet 251
Ball today. II hopes to be able to complete his current course VV
at the Industrial College. Crockett thinks this can he wnrkr rl rut.

3. Ray Cline has sent you a memo on the eve of his departure
telling you that F_ I of ONE will take on Ray's role as
regards the Alexis Johnson committee on disclosures of satellite
reconnaissance. Wheelon and are in cahoots.
4. Howard Osborn reports that there has been a switch of
signals and Security doesn't intend to give a polygraph examination
tol now. Reason is that Bud Wheelon has no current
or projected need for 0 as a consultant. Nothing further will
be done unless you or DCI direct.
5. Here are some interesting statistics on the current group
ofOJOTs; average age, 27; 40 are married; 8 are women; they
represent 62 universities; 19 advanced degrees; and 29 have undergone
post-graduate study. They come from 26 states.
6. The letter o eft here yesterday afternoon
Air Mail Special Delivery to Emmett Echols talked to
the people in alerted them to it. They said this was
fine, that it will be acceptable. For what it is worth, the
office said they had received 7 similar phone calls from spokesmen
in other agencies yesterday.
7. Larry Houston talked with Allen Dulles last night. Dulles
was quite happy about the tone and content of Truman's letter.
According to Dulles' current plans, he will be seeing Truman in
Independence sometime in early February, probably the 4th or 5th.
I suggest that you get in touch with Dulles and concert actions. I
