I am not quite sure where I Is case stands 25X1 although Kirk considers that it is your move now. 4I has 25X1 moved out of East Building and is sharing quarters here with As you know, when Kirk urged II to retire 25X1 as soon as possible, Otalked about the possible need for surgery on himself and his wife and that he was thinking of an /October retirement after the surgery is completed. Do you want J us to arrange an ap t nt 25X1 3. You will recall that President Truman left it largely up to you to set a time for your next briefing at Independence. Do you have n id h y a eas as to w en you will want to do this. 4. The Eases have highlighted interesting situation. As you know, in the case of employees recommended for termination, the IG does not concur or comment on the recommendation made to you by the various components below. Reason is that he has to reserve his position in case the employee appeals your decision. Trouble is that this really prevents the employee from seeking advice and counsel from a neutral office in the Agency during the time his or her case is unde4consideration. Jack Earman /VA ~ ,~..
