The Commander, Air University, has advised this headquarters
that he would like all students of the Air War College Class of 1955-
1956 to live on Maxwell Air Force Base. It is believed that on-base
housing will be a considerable advantage to both the students and their
dependents. Sufficient quarters are being prepared to accommodate all
students, and based on the needs of the individual families it is
planned to provide as much furniture as possible from government supplies.
Quarters will be assigned to students before arrival, and such furniture
as is required and available will be placed in the quarters in advance.
It is requested that the Air University be advised of the name
and address of the student selected for the Air War College at the
earliest possible date. It is further requested that the student
complete the inclosed questionnaire and return it to the Commandant,
Air War College, Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Alabama. Direct
communication with the Commandant, Air War College, is authorized.
