Dear Mr. Dulles: On Saturday, 21 May 1955, the nation will observe the sixth Armed Forces Day and appropriate ceremonies are scheduled for the Washington area. It is planned to hold a parade and an exhibition of military equipment as in previous years. The parade is scheduled to pass the reviewing stand at Constitution Avenue and 16th Street, N. W., on 21 May at 11:00 a.m. The parade will take approximately an hour to pass in review. The demonstrations will be conducted from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 21 May and from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 p.m., 22 May at Bolling Air Force Base. As coordinator for Armed Forces Day observances and on behalf of the members of the Armed Forces in the area, I have the honor of extending you an invitation to review the parade and to attend the exhibitions. It will assist us in our planning and facilitate making appropriate arrangements if you will complete and return the response card at your earliest convenience.
