d draft revision of the courses of action with
respect to Afghanistan in NSC 5409 has been reviewed by the
Clandestine Ssrvicts and the following ce event is submitted
ur use:
Afghanistan presently is dependent on the Soviet
anion for * largo portion of its imported petrobmm
product. Reference should be made in the revised
NSC 9409 to this necessity of devising means of
supplying this petroleum demand from Iran.
