RR: Special Report on Communist Strength
and Capabilities in the Western
Hemisphere
A copy of your letter of June 19, 1957 to Mr. J. Walter Teagley,
Chairman of the interdepartmental Committee on Internal security,
and the attached reports, have been referred to this Service by
Mr. Teagley.
The special report (A) gives the strength of the Communist Party,
and the
strength of their sympathizers. There are no dates shown after
these figures. I would appreciate being informed the year in
which these estimates were made. It is noted that in each case
the strength of the various major fronts is followed by an indi-
cation of the year in which the estimate was made.
Please also furnish any intelligence you may now have, or receive
in the future, regarding plans of the Communist Party of Mezico
or any of its fronts to violate or infiltrate the southern border
of the United States.
