Dear Allen,
Your letter of 29 July on the topic of flexowrite r -type
equipment has been referred to General Erskine. He will in-
sure that appropriate authorities, including the United States
Communications Security Board, will continue toward the
earliest possible development of measures to prevent insecure
processing of classified material on that type equipment. In
developing those measures, the fulfillment of the United States
Intelligence Board's requirements for a remote systems input
device, as stated in the attachment to your letter, will be
undertaken. The United States Intelligence Board will receive
information, normally in its existing channels with the United
States Communications Security Board, regarding significant
progress in meeting the intelligence community's needs in this
matter .
