My dear Mr. Dulles:
A confidential source who has furnished
reliable information in the past supplied the follow-
ing information as related by Timur Timofeevich
Timofeev (Timmy Dennis), son of the late Eugene
Dennis, former National Chairman of the Communist
Party, USA. Timofeev is employed by the Institute
of World Economics and International Affairs, Academy
of Sciences, Moscow, Russia, and is closely associated
with members of the Central Committee.of the Communist
Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU).
According to Timofeev, Soviet Premier Nikita
Khrushchev has recently had "one hell of a fight" with
the Central Committee of the CPSU. The military leaders
and others in the leadership of the CPSU questioned what
the Soviet Union has gained by Khrushchev's policies of
"peaceful coexistence," unilateral discontinuance of
nuclear bomb testing and disarmament. Khrushchev was
challenged on whether these actions have not "put the
people to sleep, demobilized the peace movement and
demoralized the youth."
There has also developed among the youth
in the Soviet Union a war psychosis pushing for a
war policy. The masses of Soviet citizens, however,

have a different feeling toward war and although
they will fight for their own country, they do not
want to fight or die for the Germans.
This communication has been classified "Top
Secret" due to the sensitive nature of our source.
This information is being furnished to other appro-
