As a result of the Geneva Conference we have collected a large
amount of information from persons who attended the Conference
which should be of considerable value to the intelligence com-
munity as a whole in assessing foreign efforts in the field of
atomic energy.
This consists of foreign scientific publicationsj, foreign tech-
nical papers, reports on meetings and discussions with foreign
nationals, and descriptions and photographs of foreign exhibits
and displays.
We plan to make full use of our own scientific people in the
technical evaluation of this material. In addition I should
like to ask for the assistance of certain members of your
organizations particularly in connection with additional exploita-
tions of the information obtained at the Conference,
Dr. C. H. Reichardt, our Director of Intelligence., is now in
the process of collecting and arranging this Conference material
and if you feel you can provide us with assistance I shall ask
him to get in touch with whomever you may designate and work out
details.
