SUBJECT: "Doctors" Within Agency Be So Identified In All Official
Communications
1. This memorandum contains a recommendation in paragraph 5.
2. Since people are the Agency's most important asset, anything that
gives prestige or status to employees is worthwhile.
3. The Agency has doctors of science, medical and dental, doctors,
PhD's, etc., some of whom are always identified within the Agency as
"Doctor" while others are listed as "Mister".
1.. It would seem desirable that all entitled to the designation
"Doctor", because of earned, as distinguished from honorary degrees, be %
so identified at all times.
5. Recommendation: That all CIA employees with earned degrees of
"Doctor" be identified in all official communications of the Agency,
as "Dr. X", etc.._.
