I appreciate very much your letter of June 24th and
enclosures presenting the background and qualifica-
tions of Admiral J. H. Sides. He has a most
impressive record.
I will want. to talk with you about the amount of time
that Admiral Sides would be able to give to the Board.
The Board's work is accomplished to a great extent
through the functioning of panels. The panels are
active in between Board meetings and service on such
a panel can be quite time-consuming. The next time
we are together, we can discuss this in some detail.
I look forward to seeing you on the Fourth, if not before.

In my opinion, "Savvy" Sid** is by far the broadest guaged
and outstanding flag officer which the military has generated in
the past 10-15 year
I would heartily recommend favorable consideration by
you of Admiral Bidets.
