W. Washington, D. C. Dear Mr. McCone: At two year intervals, the Marine Corps conducts an Intelligence Symposium at Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii. This year the Symposium will be hosted by the Commanding General, Fleet Marine Force, Pacific and held during the week of 7-11 December. It will be attended by the Intelligence Officers, or their representa- tives, from all major Marine Corps commands. This Symposium provides a, forum for the discussion of matters of intelligence interest in the Marine Corps, ranging from the development of equipment to intelligence relationships with the National Intelligence Community. The relationship of the Central Intelligence Agency with the military, both in contingency planning and in time of war, is of great interest to Marine Corps officers. It would contribute to the success of the Symposium and to a common understandill of mutual problems and capabilities if I I could be made is hoped that he could give a. presentation of approxim group. a,tely fifty minutes on the subject of "Integration of CIA Capabi lities with those of the Unified and Specified Commands".
