Dear Mr. Kirkpatrick:
The Commandant of the Marine Corps desires to keep his staff abreast
of developments in fields allied to the overall Marine Corps effort and
mission. In furtherance of this, liaison with a member of your organi-
zation has indicated that attached to the White House
staff, would be willing to speak to the Commandant and certain selected.
officers on the subject of the CIA role in counterinsurgency.
A briefing on this subject would be very useful and informative, and I
request that be permitted to give an appropriate presentation.
If this request is approved, further details and liaison would be arranged
by the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2, Headquarters Marine Corps.
