I would like to thank- for the excellent briefings which officers
of YOU Command gave on y and S June to the members of tho Cl'A Mid-
career Executive Development Course. The information and tours pro-
vided at etegic Air Command Headquarters and at Francis E. Warren
AFB served welly to increase our Midcareeriasts' understanding of
the nature and role of strategic deterrence.
At Offutt AYR, General Smith and the officers of the Directorate of
Intelligence were most thorough in their desoriptims of the respo nsibili-
ties and activities of the Directorate and its Divisions. The DAC Brief-
ing by Captain Walthell achieved a particularly noteworthy impact.
At Warren AFB, the assistance provided by Colonel G. W. Eldridge
was greatly appreciated, as were Colonel M. johnson's briefings and his
particupatien In the tour of the launch control facility and the launch
facility.
By their obvious professionalism and enthusiasm all of the officers
and men who took part in organizing and conducting our visits reflected
credit on the Strategic Air Command.
I hope that future Mideareer Courses may have the opportunity to
visit SAC installations,
