SUBJECT Interagency Chemical Warfare Group
1. Pursuant to the DCI's desire, expressed at the Morning
Meeting today, will you please take the lead in arranging for an
interagency task force to esamine the possibility of Communist
introduction of chemical warfare agents or weapons into the fighting
in Vietnam. The DCI believes that each a task force will be of
benefit in keeping the community and others informed of current
developments in this field as well as in providing collection guici-
auce advice to improve the state of our information.
2. You may wish to arrange for the Scientific I telligence
Committee of USIB to take on this task.
3. Please prepare a plan for organising and constituting tl
chemical warfare task force and submit it through me to the DCI
by 20 A prig.
