THROUGH DD/ I
For a high-level meeting which the Director attended
on 14 May, I gave him a package containing ten copies of
SNIE 58.4-62. I had been informed that this Estimate had
been printed and distributed. I was also confident in my own
mind that none of the principals would have the papers with
them. The following gentlemen received and retained
copies of the paper at the meeting: The President,
General Taylor, Messrs. Rusk, McNamara, McG. Bundy,
and Forrestal.
The DCI is prepared, in the future,. to have such papers
handearried with a personal note from him to ensure theiar
prompt delivery, especially at a time when the subject is
being handled in a series of frequent high-level meetings.
