Secretary Rusk. Secretary McNarr ara. Mr. Johnson. and
General Taylor, it was agreed to study the question of an
abort procedure for U-2 missions over Cuba. A quest3
was raised as to how many sorties would have aborted ip
the last 30 to 45 days if there had been in effect a procedure
calling for an abort when a signal was received to the elect
that (a) fruit-set radar had swept the U-Z or (b) that tae'-ft -4ar
was locked on.
