3. The DCI indicated that he wished to see Secretary Rusk to discuss 25X1
action papers on this have been prepared and are in the rector a office.
The DCI wishes to report on this subject to the 3412 Group and to the President
indicating the action we have taken. It will be the Number One topic on the next
Presidential briefing. (Action to F7 -1 25X1

4. The DCI noted that counter insurgency is still. the Number One
topic in Washington and wants the Agency to leave a top senior officer who will
be the expert in this field and can accompany the DCI to meetings when this is
the topic. He emphasized that he wanted to have a military man in this post
which would be that of the Assistant 1)1)/P for Paramilitary and Air Support
peratien*. (Action to 1)D/P in consultation with the DDCL )
S. The DCI raised the question of Task Force W briefings and requested
that they be much more coacis* in the future. (Action to the VD/P.)
b. The DCI indicated that there was so much discussion in, Washington
of possible IRBM sites in Cuba that he wanted the Agency to have U-2 photography
at all times on the area to check any possible construction. (Action to the DD/R.)
7. The DCI discussed with the DD/P a special project in which the
President was interested in *am* operational details and indicated that he wished
the DD/P to accompany him to the next meeting with the I,residant. (Action to
the DD/P.)
