The Seminar brings together ap- proximately 230 selected Reserve Officers, prominent in their com- munities and representing a large cross section of civilian professions, particularly business, education and law. The curriculum of the Seminar covers a wide range of prob- lems facing the United States today, with the objective of developing a greater appreciation of both the national and international aspects of U. S. national security in the Cold War. In the short time available, we strive to stimulate added interest and thought relative to plans, programs and strategies in support of the national objectives, so that the participants may better understand the mutuality of military and civilian interests involved in securing and maintaining the nation's security. It gives me great pleasure to extend to you a most cordial invitation to address the members of the Seminar on the subject, "Exploiting the Vulnerabilities of the Communist World, " at 8:45 a. m. , Friday, 17 July. The scope of the subject would be to assess the weak- nesses and vulnerabilities of the communist system and to discuss ways in which they may be exploited.
