Science Board, Net Technical Assessment
Task Force
The Defense Science Board, Net Technical Assess-
ment Task Force (DSB, NTA Task Force) will address the !
topic of Soviet Civil Defense during their 27-28 January
meeting. During the 1975 DSB Summer Study, the Task
Force selected the status of Soviet Civil Defense as one!
of the intelligence questions which could have significant
impact on Defense Department decisions. Their concern
centered on the potential value of civil defense to
decrease the effectiveness of our assured destruction
forces.
Don Steininger, Chairman of the Task Force, has
requested a briefing from CIA on the subject.
