We are once again planning on economic assessment of the
People's Republic of China. The excellent papers provided by your,
staff for our earlier studies, The People's Republic of China: An"-,
Economic Assessment (1972) and An Economic Profile of Mainland China
(1967), were a very valuable part of those compendia. We, therefore,
are especially interested in obtaining studies from your staff for
our current volume.
Dr. John P. Hardt, of Congressional Research Service, has
been assigned to the Joint Economic Committee for the ur ose of
our current study. He has been consulting with Dr. STAT
of your staff informally on our needs. Kindly have your staff contact
Dr. Hardt. Our Congressional schedule would require inputs by
March 15, 1975.
