f. Continued efforts by the Office of Training to identify the
specific functions 'performed by inliviciuals assigned to the various cow-
poneents of CIA for the ur one of deveio ri.rig and conducting realistic
training programs has resulted In a centrally located repository of know-
ledge concerning the detailed responsibilities and functions of the various
Offices of CIA which the Office of Training serves.
g. The establishment and adninisstrat1on of the Junior Officer
Trainee Progr ^ has resulted in a carefully developed set of criteria
against which nrosp13ctive eanoidstes for this program are selected.
'Experience in this field could be readily applied to the selection of
nersonnel for assignment to r 1ti- Purpose Slots.
h. Assessment and Evaluation Staff, Office of irr ~r.Jtsg, osseeses
the capability of aiding in the selection of personnel to be assigned to
Multi-Pur ose Slots.
i. The facilities of the Office of. !raining are ideally suited
for the administration of Multi-Purpose Slots .nd, in conic+eration of the
continued &il.y contacts tetweeen this Office and the other components of
CIA, acceptable procedures coulu be re?tdily established for the full
utilization of personnel assigned to 11ti-ftzr Jose :lots.
J, It is estimated that ten taz7.ti-Pur ~,ose Slats would to
adequate. atablishment of these clots within the present CIA personnel
ceiling might be accomplished by requesting that three unencumbered
Slots be provided from via/A ? nd 11i/P and four from l i:,/I .
k. A suggested procedure for administering Multi- .ir,?ose Slots
is oitlined as follows s
Personnel currently employed by CIA.
1. Candidates for reassignment to Multi-Purpose Slots be
urinated by appropriate staff and division chiefs and submitted
to the Director of Training through the appropriate Assistant
Director, ")ffice Head,, or Junior ~t!A.ff Chief.
2. Individuals so nominated be entered for an L mediate
assessment ,moss..
3. A panel consisting of re :+resentvztives of the Director
of Training, the Assistant Li.rector for Personnel, and the Office
or %taff proposing the candidate be convened to consider anoropri-
oate cues of action e.g.,
(a) Ai~ditional Iorr .1 tra.: ning required by the individual;
(b) Gn-the-jot training 0dch ' .-Ill improve the individual's
Capabilities and usefulness to CIA;
(c) The Office of Training through its contacts within the
various components of CIA to develop a series of .rt-time
